Bajil: The Al-Hiwar sports team in Bajil District, Hodeidah Governorate, emerged victorious in the Mawlid al-Nabawi Football Tournament, clinching the championship title in a thrilling finale. The tournament was organized by the district branch of the Office of Youth and Sports, with backing from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the local authority in the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Hiwar secured their victory over Ittihad al-Dahna after a tense penalty shootout that ended 3-1, following a goalless draw at the end of regular time. The tournament, which was under the supervision of the Hodeidah Office of Youth and Sports, saw participation from 16 teams, all competing in a knockout format for the coveted title.
The championship ceremony took place after the final match, where Mohammed Salem, Director of the Office of Youth and Sports in the district, along with various sports and social dignitaries, awarded the Al-Hiwar team with the championship cup and gold medals. Ittihad al-Dahna received the runner-up cup. In addition, several outstanding players were honored during the ceremony, which was attended by a large and enthusiastic crowd.
