Al-Hodeida Governor Assesses Progress on Key Infrastructure Projects

Al-hodeida: Al-Hodeida Governor, Abdullah Atifi, reviewed the progress of the concrete paving project for Martyr Al-Sammad Main Street - Phase Two - in Al-Hodeida city. The project is funded by the local council and implemented by the Executive Unit for Projects and Maintenance in the governorate under the supervision of the Public Works Office.

According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Atifi, accompanied by Zaid Al-Murtada, Director of the Executive Unit for Projects and Maintenance in Al-Hodeida, listened to explanations from the Unit's Project Director, Basem Qahtan, and engineers Mohammad Al-Hammadi and Salam Maqbil regarding the project's completion rate. The project includes constructing concrete gutters on the northern sides, asphalt works for the entrances connecting to Al-Sammad Street, installing concrete curbs for sidewalks and central medians, as well as tiling and laying pipes for various utilities.

The project spans 1,300 meters, starting from the intersection at the Port Street in front of the western port gate and extending to the entrance of the Expatriates' District near Safar Station. It aims to improve infrastructure, regulate traffic flow, and enhance the city's urban appearance.

Governor Atifi also inspected Phase Three of the Corniche Rehabilitation and Development Project, locally funded and executed by the Executive Unit under the supervision of the Public Works Office, which stretches over 166 meters. He reviewed the implementation of pedestrian walkways and integrated utility networks, the delivery of tiles and paving stones, the installation of water and electricity pipes, and the construction of walls parallel to the sea and the road.

The governor further reviewed the rehabilitation and renovation works around the Cultural Center, as part of efforts to restore and enhance its overall appearance. He instructed the Director of the Executive Unit to expedite the necessary preparations and resume the center's activities in a manner that serves the people of the governorate and reflects a civilized image befitting Al-Hodeida city.

Governor Atifi emphasized the importance of adhering to technical specifications and project timelines to achieve the desired service and development objectives, improving the level of services and infrastructure in the governorate.
