Al-hodeidah: Al-Hodeidah Governor, Abdullah Atifi, recently reviewed the progress of work and the educational process at the Higher Institute of Health Sciences, emphasizing the institution's needs and requirements for advancing education.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Atifi, accompanied by Dr. Ali Al-Haddad, Director of the Provincial Health and Environment Office, received a briefing from Dr. Khalid Al-Mashra'i, Dean of the Higher Institute of Health Sciences. The briefing covered the institute's performance, its current challenges, and potential solutions to these issues.
The meeting, chaired by Governor Atifi and attended by key officials including the Director of the Health and Environment Office and the Dean of the Institute, focused on the institute's activities, educational processes, and the discipline of academic staff and students. Discussions also highlighted the institute's role in supplying qualified personnel to the health sector.
Governor Atifi emphasized the importance of overcoming challenges to enable the institute to fulfill its national role in graduating skilled health professionals. He praised the institute's efforts in educating and training students across various departments and underscored its strategic goals, which include developing institutional and administrative capacities, improving educational programs, and enhancing the quality of its outputs to meet community needs and health development plans.
Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Khatib, the Dean of the Institute, elaborated on the institute's activities and its crucial role in training medical personnel to meet the health sector's needs across different medical specialties.
Additionally, Governor Atifi inaugurated the first semester examinations at the institute, involving 363 students from the Pharmacy Technician, Nursing Technician, Laboratory Technician, and Midwifery Technician departments. He stressed the importance of providing a conducive environment for students during their exams and commended both the teaching staff and students for their diligence and academic achievements.
Dr. Ali Al-Haddad reaffirmed his commitment to implementing the provincial leadership's directives to support the institute's needs, thereby enhancing its performance and building the capacity of its teaching staff.
The Dean of the Higher Institute of Health Sciences expressed gratitude for the local authority leadership's efforts and the support from the Health and Environment Office in tackling the challenges faced by the institute.
