Al-hodeidah: Governor of Al-Hodeidah, Abdullah Atifi, reviewed the progress of the educational process at Dar Al-Uloom Sharia University in the governorate. Atifi also examined the work of the ministerial committee responsible for evaluating the university's master's and doctoral programs under the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research. He noted the technical steps taken to meet quality standards and obtain academic accreditation for the university's higher Sharia programs, acknowledging the committee's efforts in this regard.
According to Yemen News Agency, the governor listened to explanations from the university president and the governorate's Mufti, Sheikh Muhammad Mar'i, about the educational process at the university. This included discussions on its bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in Sharia disciplines, as well as plans to develop curricula and expand student capacity to meet the governorate's need for specialized Sharia professionals.
Governor Atifi praised the efforts of the university leadership and faculty in fostering Qur'anic studies, encouraging students to memorize the Holy Book, and mastering jurisprudence, language, and Hadith studies. He emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts by relevant authorities to support the university's needs and enable it to continue its role in producing qualified scholars, muftis, and preachers who serve society.
He described Dar Al-Uloom Sharia University as a specialized scientific institution in Sharia sciences, dedicated to preparing and graduating religious scholars in fields such as jurisprudence and its principles, Qur'anic sciences, and the Prophetic Sunnah and Hadith studies. The institution is seen as a primary source of qualified personnel for mosques, Sharia courts, and religious institutions.
The governor explained that the programs offered by the university contribute to preparing imams, preachers, teachers, religious advocates, and Sharia judges. These programs follow accredited curricula that combine academic grounding with Sharia discipline, promoting values of moderation and balance in society, while serving public needs based on sound Sharia knowledge.
