Al-hodeidah: The office of the General Authority for Zakat in Al-Hodeidah province launched a project to distribute in-kind Zakat to 1,045 beneficiary families in Al-Luhayah District. This initiative is part of the "Ihsan" projects implemented by the Authority under the slogan "Food and Sufficiency".
According to Yemen News Agency, the project aims to support poor and needy families in the district by distributing in-kind crops from Zakat production. The aid includes two thousand liters of sesame oil and ten tons of dates for the year 1447 AH, contributing to achieving food security and enhancing social solidarity.
During the inauguration, Mohammed Hazaa, the Director of the Zakat Office in the province, explained that the Authority prioritizes in-kind Zakat projects as they directly alleviate the suffering of needy families and embody justice in Zakat fund distribution. He emphasized that this step is part of a series of "Ihsan" projects aimed at meeting the basic needs of poor families in various districts.
Majed Amish, the Director of Al-Luhayah District, highlighted the importance of the project in addressing the needs of poor families and appreciated the Zakat Office's efforts in implementing continuous humanitarian and development projects.
Mohammed Madi, the Secretary-General of the Local Council in the district, praised the Zakat Authority's role in enhancing community solidarity. He affirmed that such projects fulfill the purposes of Zakat in serving the people and achieving sufficiency.
Hassan Mashhour, the Director of the Zakat branch in Al-Luhayah, explained that the distribution targeted the poorest families in the district's areas, using accurate criteria to ensure the aid reaches those most in need.
