Sanaa: In a recent speech marking the Day of Wilayah, leader Al-Sayyid Abdul Malik Badruddin Al-Houthi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Yemeni Muslim people and the broader Islamic Ummah. The occasion of Ghadir Khumm, also known as the Day of Wilayah, holds significant religious importance for the Yemeni community, who have honored this day through generations.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Houthi emphasized the deep-rooted faith identity of the Yemeni people, citing the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) words about the Yemenites' belief and sagacity. He highlighted the importance of religious occasions, such as the anniversary of the Prophet's birth, in preserving faith and strengthening conscious belief. These occasions, he noted, help deepen awareness, reinforce Quranic concepts, and reflect appreciation for Allah's blessings.
Al-Houthi further elaborated on the historical significance of the Day of Ghadir Khumm, asserting that it is a verified historical fact widely agreed upon by scholars and historians. He stressed that commemorating this day bears witness to the perfection of religion and the completion of divine blessings, as declared in the Quranic verse, "Today I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and chosen Islam as your way" [Al-Ma'idah 5:3].
The speech also delved into the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) efforts during the Farewell Pilgrimage, where he gathered a large number of Muslims to deliver important instructions. Al-Houthi highlighted the Prophet's emphasis on the 'two weighty things'-the Quran and his progeny-as a safeguard for the Ummah after his departure.
Al-Houthi's address underscored the importance of divine guardianship as presented in the Quran, noting its role in safeguarding the Islamic Ummah from external influences and aligning with Allah's guidance. He warned against the dangers of aligning with foreign powers, particularly the Jews and Christians, as it could lead to a deviation from the path of faith.
The leader called for the Ummah to adhere to the guardianship of Allah, His Messenger, and the believers, as outlined in the Quranic verse, "And whoever takes for guardian Allah, His Messenger, and those who have believed, then it is certainly Allah's party that will prevail" [Al-Ma'idah 5:56]. This, he asserted, would enable the Ummah to fulfill its divine responsibilities and attain victory over its adversaries.
In conclusion, Al-Houthi reiterated the significance of the Day of Wilayah in reinforcing the bond between the Yemeni people and their faith, urging them to remain steadfast in their allegiance to Allah and to draw strength from their religious heritage.
