Al-mahabsha: Al-Ittihad team clinched the title of the Martyr Al-Ghamari Football Championship (Academy category) in Al-Mahabsha District, Hajja Governorate, with a decisive 2-0 victory over the Tofan team in the final match.
According to Yemen News Agency, the championship was organized by the local branch of the Youth and Sports Office and featured 29 teams from all sub-districts, competing across various categories including Academy, Juniors, Cubs, and Youth. The finals for the remaining categories are scheduled to take place in the upcoming period.
Mohammed Al-Madar, Director of Youth and Sports in the district, highlighted the significance of such tournaments in connecting the youth with Martyr Mohammed Al-Ghamari. These events not only serve as a tribute to his contributions in defending the homeland and supporting Gaza but also aim to educate young participants about his legacy.
Al-Madar further remarked that these sporting competitions are integral to the ministry's and local youth office's strategy of discovering and nurturing young sporting talents. The tournament concluded with an awards ceremony where the champion and runner-up teams were honored. Individual accolades were given to Moheeb Al-Hajouri as Best Player, Qusai Al-Hussam as Top Scorer, and Omar Al-Mughnij as Best Goalkeeper.
