Al-luhayyah: Al-Luyuth team from the Al-Nashiriyah area was crowned champions of the Friendship Football Cup in Al-Luhayyah District, Al-Hodeida Governorate. The tournament was organized by the Youth and Sports Office in the district with the participation of seven sports teams, as part of the celebratory events marking the anniversary of the noble Prophet’s birth (Mawlid al-Nabawi).
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Luyuth secured the title by defeating Al-Ta’awun team from Buyut Hussein in a penalty shootout, following a draw in regular time, in a match characterized by competitiveness, defensive caution, and football excitement.
Following the match, Al-Luyuth team was honored with the first-place trophy, amid a crowd presence and notable engagement with the tournament’s competitions, which witnessed strong rivalry among the participating teams.
The match was attended by a number of social and sports figures from the district.
