Sanaa: Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, extended on Monday his congratulations to the Iranian people on the successful selection of Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Ali Khamenei as the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to Yemen News Agency, in a congratulatory cable, President al-Mashat highlighted that the consensus reached by the Assembly of Experts reflects the institutional strength and stability of the Iranian state, even amidst "brutal American-Zionist aggression." He invoked divine support for the new leader to follow the path of his predecessor, the late leader Sayyed Ali al-Husseini Khamenei, describing him as "the best successor to the best predecessor." The President emphasized that this transition will bolster Iran's political, military, and security institutions, ultimately thwarting enemy objectives and leading the nation toward "decisive victory." He concluded by reaffirming that the election serves as a powerful signal of cohesion between th e Iranian leadership and its people during this pivotal historical stage.
