Sana'a: Mohammed al-Naeemi, member of the Supreme Political Council, accompanied by the Capital mayor Dr. Hamoud Ubad and ministers of Culture, Tourism, Media, and Electricity, visited on Sunday several religious and historical landmarks in Old Sana'a to inaugurate activities marking Rajab Friday, the anniversary of Yemenis' conversion to Islam.
According to Yemen News Agency, the delegation inspected restoration works at the Grand Mosque, including al-'Awsajah Dome and the Manuscripts House, and visited the historic Imam Ali Mosque and the symbolic Souk al-Halla, where Yemenis gathered around Imam Ali during his mission to spread Islam.
Al-Naeemi described Rajab Friday as a historic day for Yemenis, emphasizing the importance of preserving these sites to reflect their religious and cultural significance.
Officials highlighted the role of these landmarks in connecting Yemenis' Islamic heritage with contemporary efforts to honor faith and national identity.
