Sana'a: Dr. Radwan Al-Rabbai, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, met with Major General Ali Hussein Al-Houthi, Undersecretary of Security and Intelligence at the Ministry of Interior, to discuss joint efforts in combating the smuggling of agricultural products and agricultural production inputs.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting focused on the necessity of integrated roles, coordination, and cooperation to tackle smuggling activities. Dr. Al-Rabbai highlighted the detrimental effects of smuggling on local products, development plans, import management, and achieving self-sufficiency. He called for strict measures and enhanced monitoring tools to protect the local market and support national production.
Minister Al-Rabbai reiterated the ministry's dedication to collaborating with security agencies and other relevant entities to combat all forms of smuggling and safeguard domestic products. Major General Al-Houthi expressed the Ministry of Interior's readiness to work with the Ministry of Agriculture in executing anti-smuggling plans, intensifying efforts to catch smugglers, and enhancing joint coordination to protect national resources.
