Al-Dhale':Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs, Lieutenant General Jalal Al-Ruwayshan, alongside Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 118 development and service projects in Al-Dhale' Governorate. This event marked the 12th anniversary of the 21 September Revolution.
According to Yemen News Agency, the projects have a combined cost of five billion and 700 million riyals. Funding for these initiatives comes from the local authority, the Central Interventions Unit, and community initiatives.
The officials inaugurated 94 projects at a cost of three billion and 400 million riyals in areas such as roads, health, education, and agriculture, funded by the Central Interventions Unit. Additionally, they laid the foundation stone for 34 development projects costing two billion and 300 million riyals. Notable projects include asphalt paving works for the Western Ring Road and the initial construction of Damt General Hospital.
During the ceremony, Al-Ruwayshan emphasized that these projects are a realization of the directives from revolution leader Sayyid Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi and the government's program to improve citizens' lives amid ongoing conflict and siege.
He also highlighted the significant contributions of community initiatives in Al-Dhale', where local involvement in some projects reached 80 percent of the cost. Al-Ruwayshan expressed gratitude to the residents for their efforts in enhancing local development.
Al-Ruwayshan urged the people of the southern governorates, particularly Al-Dhale', to disregard calls and mobilizations from Saudi Arabia, stressing unity against foreign occupation.
Acting Governor of Al-Dhale', Abdul Latif Al-Shagdari, outlined the governorate's progress in service, development, economic empowerment, and agriculture. He stated that the inaugurated projects would foster sustainable development and self-sufficiency.
The event was attended by several local officials, including the governorate's mobilization official Ahmed Al-Marani and director of Damt District Sultan Fadel.
