Al-Sabeen District Launches New Cooperative Society in Sana’a

Sana'a: A multipurpose cooperative society was officially established on Monday in al-Sabeen district in the Capital Sana'a.

According to Yemen News Agency, the founding meeting, organized by the preparatory committee of the society with support from the local authority in the capital-represented by the Project and Agricultural Initiatives Financing Unit-and in coordination with Bunyan Development Foundation, the Social Affairs and Labor Office, and the Agricultural Cooperative Union, approved the society's bylaws and elected its administrative board and inspection committee.

During the inauguration, Assistant Undersecretary for Local Authority Development and Rural Affairs, Khalil al-Quraishi, stressed the importance of enhancing the performance of cooperative societies by building qualified cadres across various fields in line with leadership directives. He praised the Capital Sana'a leadership for its efforts to train and develop cooperative society staff, aiming to contribute to the development of local communities in the capital districts and achieve self-sufficiency.

District Director Mohammed al-Washli described al-Sabeen Society as a fundamental pillar of development, emphasizing the need to improve its management, activate its operations effectively, and establish investment projects to ensure its sustainability. Meanwhile, Nabil Rajeh, Director of Cooperatives at the Social Affairs and Labor Office in the capital, highlighted the efforts made in preparing and establishing the multipurpose cooperative society for the people of al-Sabeen district.
