Al Sagheer and Al Ahdal Discuss Strengthening Scientific Research and Fish Farming Cooperation

Al hodeidah: The Deputy Minister of Fisheries at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, Dr. Fawzi Al Sagheer, engaged in discussions with Dr. Mohammed Al Ahdal, President of Al Hodeidah University, focusing on enhancing academic and research collaboration in scientific research and fish farming.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting explored the possibilities of cooperation between the fisheries sector and Al Hodeidah University. The aim is to develop the fisheries sector and support the creation of qualified personnel to meet sustainable development needs.

The discussions also reviewed the enhancement of specialized scientific research in marine biology and fishery resources. A significant topic was the proposal to introduce a fish farming division within the College of Marine Sciences programs. This initiative seeks to provide the fisheries sector with scientific and practical skills that align with the Ministry's requirements and its focus on fisheries as a critical productive and developmental sector supporting the national economy.

Dr. Al Sagheer stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships with academic and research institutions. He highlighted the need for integration between practical applications and scientific outputs to advance modern technologies in aquaculture and marine resource management.

Dr. Al Ahdal expressed the university's commitment to offering scientific and technical support. He emphasized the institution's readiness to update academic programs to meet the needs of productive sectors, with a particular focus on the fisheries sector.
