Al-zaideyah: Al-Zaideyah district in Hodeida province on Thursday hosted the first expanded consultative meeting for the Popular Civil Defense System in the northern districts, under the theme 'Integrating Official and Popular Efforts in Confronting Aggression and Disasters.'
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by local, security, and community leaders who discussed mechanisms to activate the Popular Civil Defense System, strengthen preventive measures against potential disasters, and improve emergency response to protect lives and property.
Civil Defense official Ali Khmash emphasized that the initiative represents a vital step toward unifying official and community efforts. He noted that trained volunteer teams will expand rescue, relief, and training programs across northern districts.
Head of the northern sector Brig. Gen. Fadel al-Dhiyani highlighted that enhanced readiness of civil defense teams would help minimize losses. He emphasized the importance of community expertise and close cooperation between official bodies and grassroots initiatives.
