Sana'a: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates for Political Affairs, Ambassador Abdullah Sabri, has confirmed that the Ministry is closely monitoring the recent statement by the UN Special Envoy to Yemen concerning the latest developments affecting Yemen and the broader region.
According to Yemen News Agency, Ambassador Sabri highlighted that the United Nations has not met its obligations regarding violations and abuses by the other party, especially in humanitarian matters. He emphasized that Sana'a International Airport remains closed, affecting millions of Yemenis who need to travel, and the prisoner exchange file remains unresolved despite recent agreements.
He further noted that despite the potential for a political solution, the United Nations has succumbed to external pressures and neglected its responsibilities, even with sufficient time to address these issues.
The Undersecretary reiterated Yemen's commitment to peace and the importance of transitioning from de-escalation to cessation of aggression and war on Yemen, as well as non-interference in its internal affairs. He condemned the attribution of potential future repercussions to the Yemeni government in Sana'a, emphasizing that it has shown significant restraint while other parties disrupt Yemen's internal situation without intervention from the UN envoy.
