Sana'a: Amran University, in cooperation with the governorate's health sector, has launched the preliminary scientific events and training workshops for the 4th Annual Medical Conference on Pediatrics and Neonatology. At the launch event, Dr. Mohammed Al-Dhalai, Chairman of Amran University and Conference Chair, emphasized the importance of these events and workshops in enhancing the readiness and qualifications of medical and research personnel. He highlighted the need to equip them with modern skills prior to the start of the conference, which is organized by the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Amran University.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Al-Dhalai also noted the significance of the preparations and organization for the conference, which will see the participation of academics, specialists, and researchers in the fields of medicine and pediatrics. For his part, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Mohammed Al-Eryani, indicated that the training workshops-held both prior to and alongside the conference-aim to keep pace with ongoing developments in pediatrics. They also seek to create a scientific platform for exchanging expertise and developing the capabilities of national researchers and medical staff in accordance with the highest academic standards.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bushra Sari, Director of the Maternity and Childhood Hospital, explained that organizing these workshops reflects the preparatory committee's commitment to providing a comprehensive scientific and training environment for participants. She noted that the programs focus on practical aspects and modern techniques in pediatrics to ensure maximum practical and scientific benefit before the official conference proceedings begin.
An advanced scientific workshop titled "Artificial Intelligence Applications in Pediatrics and Medical Research" was held at the Computer Center of the University's Institute for Continuing Education. Conducted by expert engineer Younis Al-Mansoub, the workshop aimed to equip physicians and researchers with skills in utilizing AI technologies for medical research development, data analysis, cloud platform usage, intelligent modeling, and addressing associated ethical and technical challenges.
Meanwhile, a "Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)" workshop- themed "Practical Training to Save Children's Lives"-commenced in the clinical training halls of the Martyr President Saleh Al-Sammad Teaching Hospital, featuring the participation of Dr. Salim Al-Dhawy, a consultant and Head of the Emergency and Critical Care Department. The workshop aims to enhance the proficiency of pediatricians, emergency physicians, general practitioners, residents, and interns. It utilizes clinical simulation sessions and practical training covering the early assessment of critically ill children, airway management, high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the management of shock, cardiac arrhythmias, and emergency medications.
