SANA’A: The General Authority for Antiquities and Museums has issued a strong condemnation against the Zionist enemy forces for their systematic aggression on ancient and Islamic monuments in Lebanon and Gaza. In a statement, the Authority highlighted the severity of these actions, equating them to similar acts of destruction witnessed in Yemen.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Authority emphasized that the assaults on cultural heritage seen in Yemen, Gaza, and Lebanon stem from the same hostile intent, regardless of the differing perpetrators. These actions are viewed as a continuation of the aggression coalition’s efforts to obliterate historical sites in Yemen, further underscoring a pattern of cultural erasure.
The commission has urged international and private organizations dedicated to the preservation of antiquities and cultural heritage to take decisive action. It called for these entities to criminalize those responsible for such acts of aggression and to collaborate earnestly with governmental
bodies in safeguarding and restoring affected sites. Moreover, there is a strong appeal for the return of smuggled antiquities presently held in Western museums and auction houses.
