Antiquities & Museums Authority Releases 16th Issue of Ridan Magazine

Sana’a: The General Authority for Antiquities and Museums has published the 16th issue of Ridan magazine. The issue included a collection of inscriptions and archaeological and historical studies that shed light on the ancient Yemeni civilization.

According to Yemen News Agency, the issue began with an editorial by the head of the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums, Obad Al-Hayal, who discussed a rare inscription containing the verb “to cheer,” which reveals important linguistic and historical connotations. The issue also included a study of new Sebaean inscriptions of Bani Jarrah and Bani Dhi Gaiman from Muharram Bilqis by Muhammad Ali Hazam al-Qaili, as well as a study of three Sebaean inscriptions of offerings and women’s vows by Yahya Abdullah Dadieh.

The magazine further explored a study of Dhu Sahar and Banu Athaklan in light of new Sebaean inscriptions from Muharram Bilqis by Muhammad Massad Ahmad al-Shari’ah. Another significant contribution is a study of new Sabaean inscriptions from Muharram Bilqis, focusing on their contents’ significance by Fadl Muhammad Muhsin al-Omeisi.

Additionally, the issue features a study of new inscriptions from Muharram Bilqis, offering an analytical perspective on their contents and linguistic originality by Ali Nasser Sawal. Ahmed Ali Saleh Faqas contributed with a study of six new Zipporian inscriptions from the National Museum in Sana’a, titled “Investigation and Study.”

In terms of broader studies, the issue included an exploration of the city of Rakhma and its role in the political conflict between Sheba and Himyar in the third century AD, authored by Muhammad Ahmad Tahir al-Hajj. It also presented an old archaeological report of the comprehensive archaeological survey project in Amran province from the season of 1999, prepared by Ahmed Mohammed Al-Sanhani.
