Sanaa: Tribes and Shiekhs in the Arhab district of Sanaa province held on Monday a large armed tribal rally, during which they announced a tribal mobilization in response to what they described as attempts to create division and discord surrounding the case of Sumaya Ahmed Al-Zubairi.
According to Yemen News Agency, the massive rally was attended by tribal leaders, local figures, and members of the girl's family, including her father, brother, son, and husband. They stated that their participation aimed to address rumors and allegations surrounding the case. Participants emphasized tribal unity and rejected efforts to exploit the issue for political purposes or to provoke tribal tensions.
During the rally, tribal leaders declared that Arhab remains committed to its traditional values and customs, urging other tribes not to be drawn into disputes or tensions related to the case. Speakers also praised the historical ties among Yemeni tribes and stressed the importance of resolving disputes through tribal customs and established social traditions.
Representatives of the girl's family noted that the matter had been settled through tribal mediation and affirmed that the issue remains within the framework of the tribe and its elders. A statement issued at the gathering rejected allegations that the woman remained in the custody of any party and criticized attempts to use the case for political or tribal purposes.
The statement called for adherence to tribal customs and warned against actions that could fuel tensions or divisions. It affirmed their commitment to resolving disputes through tribal mechanisms and preserving social cohesion among Yemen's tribes.
