Sanaa: Prosecutor General Judge Abdul Salam al-Houthi conducted a visit to the pretrial detention facility in the southern part of Sanaa City, where he reviewed the conditions of the prisoners and ordered the release of several individuals.
According to Yemen News Agency, Judge al-Houthi was accompanied by Chief Prosecutor of Appeal of the South Secretariat, Judge Ahmed Al-Qaiz, along with prosecutors from the South West and Southeast regions. During the visit, the prisoners shared information regarding the duration of their detention, the actions taken against them, and any financial obligations they had as private rights.
The authorities verified the prisoners’ data, leading to directives for the release of several detainees. This decision included conditional releases for those who have completed three-quarters of their sentences and demonstrated good behavior. Additionally, arrangements were made for philanthropists to cover the special rights of some prisoners.
Judge al-Houthi emphasized the importance of expediting case handling, particularly those involving prisoners, and encouraged the facilitation of conditional release procedures during the month of Ramadan. He highlighted the significance of ensuring humanitarian treatment and advancing justice for citizens.
