Dhamar: The General Authority for the Care of Martyrs and Missing Persons Families in Dhamar province today launched economic empowerment projects for 209 families of martyrs and missing persons in the districts of Jabal al Sharq, Maghrib Ans, and Jahan at a cost of 184 million Yemeni riyals.
According to Yemen News Agency, the projects encompass a variety of sectors, including livestock breeding (cattle, sheep, and goats), beekeeping, sewing, solar energy, ready-made clothes, grocery stores, libraries, mills, electronics, agriculture through greenhouses and irrigation networks, construction materials, veterinary clinics, pastries and sweets, and medical clinics.
During the launch, attended by the deputy governor Hilal Al Miqdad, the director of the branch of the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs and Missing Persons Families, Hashim Al Hamzi, emphasized the Authority's commitment to adopting projects aimed at improving the living standards of families who sacrificed their lives in defense of land and honor. He highlighted that these projects reflect the interest of the Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdul Malik Badr Al Din Al Houthi and the President of the Supreme Political Council in the welfare of martyrs' families.
Al Hamzi affirmed that the economic empowerment projects carry significant humanitarian, social, and developmental dimensions. The goal is to transition martyrs' families from a state of need to one of sufficiency, transforming them into productive families actively contributing to the process of construction and development, thereby enhancing food security efforts towards self-sufficiency.
Mohsen Shaqdam, the director of Jabal al Sharq district, praised the Authority's efforts in caring for martyrs and missing persons' families. He highlighted the importance of expanding the implementation of economic empowerment projects, training, and qualifying the children and families of martyrs, and providing them with crafts and professions to help them face life's challenges.
Majid Al Misbahi, the director of training and economic empowerment at the presidency of the Authority for the Care of Martyrs Families, pointed out that economic empowerment for these families is a true fulfillment of the sacrifices made by their loved ones. He explained that the empowerment projects represent a solid safety net, enabling martyrs' families to withstand life's fluctuations and create sustainable income sources.
Ahmed Sabr, the director of the Authority branch in Jabal al Sharq district, reviewed the Authority's efforts in economically empowering martyrs and missing persons' families. He emphasized qualifying them to become active in the production process through managing and developing small projects.
