Beijing Achieves New Milestones in Green Economy

Sana'a: Data released by the Beijing Green Development Forum 2026 indicates that the total revenue of key green economy industries in the Chinese capital exceeded 1.8 trillion yuan (approximately 268.77 billion US dollars) in 2025, signaling the economy's rapid transition toward a green path. According to Yemen News Agency, Li Xiaotao, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, stated that by the end of 2025, high-tech industries and strategic emerging industries accounted for 30.9 percent and 25.6 percent of the municipality's GDP, respectively. Meanwhile, the service sector remained stable, exceeding 80 percent. As part of the transition to low-carbon green energy, green energy accounted for 36.8 percent of Beijing's total electricity consumption in 2025. Additionally, the number of new energy vehicles in the capital surpassed 1.5 million, supported by 570,000 charging piles. Li noted that Beijing will continue to develop and strengthen its green industrial ecosystem, foc using on advanced energy, synthetic biology manufacturing, intelligent connected new energy vehicles, and other strategic and foundational green industries.
