Sana’a: The General Authority for Endowments office in the Capital Secretariat has issued a clarification statement concerning Abdulghani Daif Saree Razhi, who reportedly attempted self-immolation in Al-Sabeen Square.
According to Yemen News Agency, the statement clarified that Al-Razhi has never submitted any complaints, grievances, or reviews to the General Authority for Endowments or its branches concerning endowments. Instead, it accuses him of being part of a gang led by Jibran Musleh Al-Shami, who allegedly orchestrated the self-immolation incident. Al-Shami is said to have filmed the event and compensated Al-Razhi for this act, intending to pressure for the looting of endowment lands, with Al-Razhi receiving a share of these lands.
The Endowments Office further stated that they have asked Jibran Musleh Al-Shami to seek resolution through the judiciary if he has legitimate grievances. They urged him to participate in the previously formed committee to address the case, rather than resort to armed forc
e to seize endowment properties and infringe upon citizens’ rights. Despite being summoned by the Public Prosecution, Al-Shami has reportedly refused to comply, leveraging his influence to resist judicial and security authorities. Consequently, a forced summons has been issued for Al-Shami and his associates.
The statement emphasized that the Endowments Authority in the Secretariat continues to call on the gang to resolve disputes through the judiciary, pledging to abide by court rulings as the judicial authority is the proper forum for such matters.
