Sanaa: Dr. Hamoud Obbad, the capital governor, has initiated a project aimed at distributing Ramadan Iftar meals to traffic policemen who manage traffic at key locations such as tours, intersections, and main streets within the municipality’s directorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, the project is set to provide 550 integrated Iftar meals daily throughout Ramadan to traffic officers stationed at all rounds and intersections, with backing from the Capital Municipality. This initiative underscores the significance of offering Ramadan meals to members of the traffic and security forces within the Secretariat, recognizing their critical role in controlling, organizing, and securing traffic lines, especially during peak times when the capital experiences a surge in vehicles from various provinces.
The Revolutionary Command and the Supreme Political Council have placed a strong emphasis on supporting traffic officers, viewing them as embodiments of state prestige and discipline, and as representatives of the desired state of affairs in the Capital Secretariat and other provinces.
Colonel Najeeb Al-Asadi, Director of Traffic of the Capital Secretariat, highlighted that the Secretariat’s Traffic Department has crafted a comprehensive traffic plan for the Secretariat’s streets and intersections. This plan involves dividing the areas into sectors and enlisting the support of rescue forces, central security, and traffic control to aid in smooth traffic movement during the day and night throughout Ramadan, thereby preventing accidents.
