Celebratory Commemorating Prophet’s Birthday in Al-Wahda District

Sana'a: The Al-Wahda District in the capital city of Sana'a witnessed celebratory evenings commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), amidst a large official and public gathering.

According to Yemen News Agency, members of the Somali community organized a cultural evening to celebrate the Prophet's birthday in the presence of Ali Al-Dailami, the official in charge of African communities in the capital, and Sami Hamid, the director of Al-Wahda District. During the evening, Dr. Qais Al-Tal, the head of the Guidance Sector in the capital, emphasized the significance of this occasion for all Yemenis and Muslims. He highlighted the importance of the Somali and African communities celebrating the Prophet's birthday in their second home, Yemen, and their sharing of the feelings and lessons learned from it in strengthening the values of Islam.

He noted the great love and high esteem Muslims hold for the Prophet Muhammad, and how the anniversary of his birth serves as a unifying occasion for the Muslim community and a source of joy for its members on this momentous religious occasion. Somali community leaders stressed that the Muslim community should make this occasion a milestone for strengthening adherence to the path of the beloved Prophet, emulating his noble character, virtues, and exemplary life.

The leaders emphasized the importance of celebrating the Prophet's birthday and spreading joy among the community members, along with the people of the land of faith and wisdom, in reverence for the guiding Prophet whom God Almighty sent as a mercy to all mankind and a savior of humanity. The evening included segments expressing the significance and profound importance of this occasion for Muslims.

Additionally, the Security District of Al-Wahda organized a celebration commemorating the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, attended by directors of the Youth and Children's Fund, Abdulhamid Al-Maghribi and Sami Hamid, respectively, as well as the Deputy Director of Security for Al-Wahda District, Colonel Abdulwahab Faras, and other security leaders. Colonel Bashir Al-Maghribi, Director of the Security District of Al-Wahda, discussed aspects of the Prophet's character, his illustrious life, and the stages of spreading the Islamic message until its ultimate triumph.

He highlighted campaigns of misinformation waged by Islamist groups against the celebration of the Prophet's birthday, aimed at separating the nation from its Prophet and the values of Islam. The speeches emphasized the importance of commemorating this religious occasion in a way that reflects the Yemeni people's love for the Prophet Muhammad and strengthens awareness of his morals, life, and principles, thus contributing to the consolidation of their faith.

In the Al-Wahda district, a celebration was held in the Al-Qahtami neighborhood, commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad. The events included speeches and various performances expressing joy and celebration of this great occasion. Both evenings were well-attended, including Assistant Undersecretaries of the Secretariat, Dr. Abdulwahab Sharaf and Abdullah Al-Hajri, as well as local, executive, security, mobilization, and health leaders, sheikhs, social figures, and a large number of citizens. The celebrations featured expressive recitations and cultural performances.
