Dhamar: The Emergency Development Central Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Local, Rural Administration and Development has handed over new road excavation units to the local authority in Dhamar Governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the two units, consisting of a bulldozer and a wheel loader, are intended to support and enhance local development efforts. They will assist agricultural cooperative societies in implementing projects and providing essential services in the neediest areas. This equipment delivery is part of a coordinated effort with multi-purpose agricultural cooperative societies in the districts, within the framework of a program aimed at enhancing and rehabilitating state-owned assets. The program, funded by the Interventions Unit, involves an investment of 250 million riyals, supplemented by a 39 million riyals contribution from the Executive Unit for Road and Public Place Maintenance in Dhamar Governorate.
During the handover ceremony, the Governorate's Deputy for Development Sector, Ali Atef, and the head of the Governorate's General Mobilization, Ahmed Al-Dhurani, commended the support. They emphasized its importance for all developmental and service sectors in the governorate, highlighting its potential to boost the efforts of agricultural cooperative societies and facilitate community initiative projects. They noted that this initiative aligns with the general policy of empowering local authorities and expanding the scope of service and development projects.
Engineer Shahab Al-Shami, the Executive Director of the Emergency Development Central Interventions Unit, stated that providing this equipment addresses the needs of Dhamar Governorate and contributes to accelerating the implementation of service and development projects, particularly in roads, agriculture, and infrastructure. Meanwhile, Engineer Samir Al-Madhhaji, Director of the Executive Unit for Road, Public Place Construction and Maintenance in the governorate, affirmed that the new equipment serves as additional support to the existing machinery. It will be utilized to rehabilitate roads in the governorate center and districts.
