China’s Economic Growth Slows to 4.8% in Third Quarter

Beijing: The Chinese economy grew at its slowest annual pace in a full year in the July-September quarter, expanding by 4.8%, impacted by trade tensions with the United States and slowing domestic demand. The Chinese government said in a report on Monday that the third-quarter (July-September) data represents the weakest growth rate since the third quarter of 2024, compared to a 5.2% growth rate in the previous quarter.

According to Yemen News Agency, the world's second-largest economy grew at an annual rate of 5.2% in the January-September period. Despite higher tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on imports from China, exports remained relatively strong as companies shifted their sales to other global markets.
