Hajja: The districts of Qafl Shamer, Mabyan, Bani al-Awwam, Al-Mahabsha, and Al-Miftah in Hajja Governorate today commemorated the 19th anniversary of the passing of the distinguished scholar Sayyid Majd al-Din bin Muhammad al-Mu'ayyadi. During a ceremonial gathering in Qafl Shamer, the Director of the Governorate's Endowments and Guidance Office, scholar Muhammad 'Ishan, highlighted al-Mu'ayyadi's role in reviving the Ahl al-Bayt methodology through his knowledge, teaching, guidance, and performance of religious duties in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, which were grounded in knowledge and striving in the path of God.
According to Yemen News Agency, 'Ishan reviewed key stages of the late scholar's life, including his study of knowledge, teaching, worship, guidance, and calling people to God with wisdom and good counsel. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the blessed month of Ramadan to draw from God's guidance and to benefit from the lectures of Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, reflecting on their content as a guiding methodology that protects the nation and steers it in confronting contemporary challenges.
Members of the Yemen Scholars Association, scholars Ahmad al-Houthi and Judge Abdullah Heij, stressed the importance of further engaging with the writings of the eminent scholar Majd al-Din al-Mu'ayyadi to strengthen faith-based identity, Qur'anic culture, and a sincere return to the Qur'an, adhering to the guidance of the 'Leaders of Guidance.'
In an evening event organized by the Endowments and Zakat Offices, they noted that al-Mu'ayyadi was among the foremost scholars who defended faith-based identity and stood against campaigns of Westernization and intellectual distortion.
At an evening gathering in Hajr Bani Asad in Al-Mahabsha district, Yemen Scholars Association members scholar Hassan al-Na'ami and scholar Ahmed al-Muhturi emphasized the importance of commemorating al-Mu'ayyadi's passing to recognize his great role in serving Islam, spreading religious sciences, and reinforcing faith-based identity within society.
They highlighted that al-Mu'ayyadi was a model of a scholar who applied his knowledge in practice, dedicating his life to serving religion and reviving the sciences of Ahl al-Bayt. He was also among the leading scholars who disseminated knowledge and contributed to shielding society from foreign and misleading ideas.
Al-Na'ami and al-Muhturi described al-Mu'ayyadi as a comprehensive scientific encyclopedia-jurist, hadith scholar, Qur'anic exegete, educator, reformer, and source of authentic Islamic law-whose scholarly legacy should be leveraged to guide the nation toward righteousness and uprightness.
During an evening in Bani al-Awwam district, speeches focused on the status of scholars in society, their role in reforming the nation, and al-Mu'ayyadi's efforts in confronting misguided cultures and false beliefs while promoting authentic Islamic law. The program also reviewed stages of al-Mu'ayyadi's life and his role in mentoring a generation of scholars who followed his path in spreading truth and advocating good.
In an evening organized by the Endowments and Zakat Offices in Mabyan district, Deputy Director of the Endowments and Guidance Office, Abdu al-Ahnoumi, and cultural activist Mutahar al-Khashab, affirmed that preserving the heritage of the venerable scholar Majd al-Din al-Mu'ayyadi is everyone's responsibility, given its impact on strengthening religious awareness and adherence to authentic Islamic values. They stressed the necessity of safeguarding this great legacy and promoting accurate religious knowledge derived from the Qur'an, the teachings of the Prophet, the Ahl al-Bayt methodology, and the guidance of the 'Leaders of Guidance.'
In Al-Miftah district, a Ramadan evening commemorating the anniversary emphasized following the path of the distinguished scholar Majd al-Din al-Mu'ayyadi and other righteous scholars, spreading religious awareness, and reinforcing faith-based values. The event highlighted that scholars are the light of the nation and beacons of guidance whose example should be followed to preserve religion, strengthen solidarity and compassion within society.
