Dhamar: The Committee for Addressing Prisons and Prisoners' Issues, appointed by the Leader of the Revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council, has made new progress in its efforts to address prisoners' issues and private rights in Dhamar governorate. This progress was achieved through the successful completion of several reconciliations and settlements between victims' families, rights holders, and prisoners.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Committee explained that these efforts are part of its field program to address prison-related issues in various governorates. This program focuses on strengthening community reconciliation efforts, settling private rights, and alleviating the suffering of prisoners and their families, in coordination with judicial and security authorities, local authorities, and community leaders.
The Committee Chairman, Sheikh Ali Qarsha, told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that this achievement is an important step in the long process of addressing private rights issues. He noted that the Committee is continuing its efforts to complete the remaining cases that are still pending before the courts or in which final judgments have been issued, in order to achieve justice and preserve the rights of all parties.
He called upon businessmen, the Zakat and Awqaf authorities, and philanthropists to contribute to supporting the committee's efforts. He also urged the families of victims and those with legitimate claims to engage with reconciliation initiatives and alleviate the burdens on those facing financial hardship, thereby contributing to the resolution of this humanitarian issue and strengthening the values of forgiveness, tolerance, and reform within society.
Sheikh Qirsha indicated that the committee is proceeding according to a phased plan to address prison cases in various governorates. He emphasized that the success of these efforts depends on everyone's cooperation and that community collaboration is a fundamental pillar for expediting the release of those eligible, resolving outstanding cases, and reuniting families, thus embodying the values of solidarity and reform encouraged by Islam.
