Communal Iftar Promotes Social Solidarity at Central Prison in Ibb

Sanaa: A communal iftar was organized on Thursday at the Central Prison in Ibb Governorate for the third consecutive year, in cooperation with the governorate's Central Reform Institution and the Community Committee for Supporting Prisoners and the Needy, aiming to improve inmates' conditions.

According to Yemen News Agency, Governor of Ibb, Abdulwahid Salah, emphasized the importance of such humanitarian initiatives, which embody compassion and solidarity within society. He noted that these efforts bring joy to the inmates and alleviate their hardships, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, praising the organizers and the community's role in supporting prisoners and the needy.

He also highlighted that caring for inmates and attending to their conditions is a moral and social responsibility. He affirmed that the local authority in the governorate gives special attention to this matter and works in coordination with relevant bodies and community initiatives to support reform and rehabilitation programs that help inmates reintegrate into society as productive members.

The iftar was attended by the First Deputy Governor Abdulhamid Al-Shahri, Governorate Deputy Dr. Ashraf Al-Mutawakkil, Directors of the Grievances Redress Authority, Yahya Al-Qasimi, and Central Reform Institution, Colonel Anwar Al-Mutawakkil. Colonel Al-Mutawakkil explained that organizing the communal iftar is part of the social and humanitarian programs the reform institution strives to implement for inmates, enhancing human bonds and spreading hope among them, while appreciating the support of the local authority and the community's engagement in the success of such initiatives.

Meanwhile, the Community Committee for Supporting Prisoners and the Needy stated that this initiative is part of ongoing community efforts to stand by inmates and their families, ease their suffering, and promote values of solidarity and compassion, particularly during the blessed month of Ramadan.
