Sana'a: Mayor of the Capital Sana'a Dr. Hamoud Ubad launched the 1/1 Community Cleanliness Campaign for 2026 on Thursday, coinciding with the celebration of Rajab Friday, under the slogan 'Cleanliness of the Capital Sana'a Is a Religious Commitment and a Civilized Behavior.'
According to Yemen News Agency, the launch event took place on Madhbah Street and Market in the Maeen district, featuring broad participation from local authorities, community initiatives, civil society organizations, sanitation workers, and volunteers. The 20-day campaign aims to involve the community in various activities, including street cleaning, tree planting, sidewalk painting, traffic organization, and environmental awareness efforts.
Dr. Ubad acknowledged the robust community involvement and highlighted the significance of cleanliness in promoting public health, protecting the environment, and enhancing the cultural image of the city. He underscored the importance of fostering cleanliness as a collective duty and a consistent social practice.
The campaign is set to be carried out across all districts of the Capital Secretariat, with the deployment of more than 300 sanitation vehicles and equipment to improve cleanliness and uplift the overall appearance of Sana'a.
