Concluding Refresher Training Course for Workers in Therapeutic Nutrition Departments in Taiz

Taiz: The Health and Environment Office in Taiz province on Tuesday concluded a refresher training course for workers in therapeutic nutrition departments, with the participation of 37 employees from hospitals and centers in the districts of Al-Ta'iziyah, Khadir, Sharab As-Salam, Sharab Ar-Rawdah, and Mawiyah. The initiative was supported by the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to Yemen News Agency, the six-day course aimed to equip 37 healthcare workers with knowledge on reviewing data and information related to children suffering from malnutrition, treating inpatient cases, and understanding the medications prescribed for them. The training was part of a broader effort to enhance the skills of health personnel in Therapeutic Feeding Centers (TFC).

During the closing ceremony, Dr. Fadhl Al-Qubati, Deputy Director of the Health Office in the province, noted that the course aligns with the plan prepared by the Nutrition Program at the Ministry of Health. This plan focuses on training health personnel to offer improved health and nutritional services for children in inpatient departments. He reaffirmed the office's commitment to elevating the level of health services in the province, placing a strong emphasis on the training of healthcare workers and volunteers, especially within the nutrition program.

Abdullah Al-Haydari, Director of the Nutrition Department at the Health Office, encouraged the trainees to persist in their efforts to provide therapeutic services to children suffering from malnutrition, underscoring the significance of their role in the health sector.
