Taiz: The Martyr Football Championship concluded on Friday at Al-Wehda Stadium in Al-Rahda.
According to Yemen News Agency, the tournament was organized by the Governorate's Youth and Sports Office and featured 16 teams from the eastern region. The championship lasted for 42 days, culminating in an exciting final match between Shabab Haifan and Al-Shaheed Abdulrahman.
The final match drew a large official and public audience, witnessing intense competition throughout both halves. The game ended in a 1-1 draw and was eventually decided by penalty kicks, with Al-Shaheed Abdulrahman emerging victorious and claiming the championship trophy.
Additionally, during halftime, a protest stand was held in support of the brothers in Gaza. Participants expressed their anger at the ongoing Israeli aggression and voiced solidarity with the oppressed residents of the Gaza Strip.
