Sana'a: The Prophet Birthday Football Championship concluded in Azal District, Sana'a City, organized by the district's Youth and Sports Office, with the participation of 16 teams from the junior and junior categories across neighborhoods and districts, to mark the anniversary of the Prophet's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the tournament was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Capital Municipality, with funding from the Youth and Children's Welfare Fund and the supervision of the Municipality's Youth and Sports Office. The competition was fierce between the participating teams, with the Dahr Himyar team emerging victorious after defeating Al-Rumaah in the final match, 4-2.
Ahsan Al-Omari opened the scoring for Dahr Himyar, before Captain Laith Ismail equalized for Al-Rumaah, ending the first half in a 1-1 draw. In the second half, Dahr Himyar performed admirably, with Mohammed Al-Najjar scoring two consecutive goals, while Al-Rumaah scored their second goal in the final minutes. The match ended with Dahr Himyar winning 4-2.
At the conclusion of the tournament, the Dahr Himyar team was honored with the Prophet's Birthday Cup and gold medals, while the Al-Rumaah team was honored with silver medals. The closing ceremony was attended by the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Azal District, Ahmed Mohammed Al-Darkami, his deputy, Abdulraqeeb Al-Badani, and a number of sports and social figures.
