Sana'a: The Prophet Muhammad's Birthday Football Tournament for the year 1447 AH concluded at Al-Thawra Sports City Stadium in Sana'a. The tournament was held for youth and junior teams from clubs and school teams in Bani Matar District, competing for the Messenger of Allah Cup.
According to Yemen News Agency, the tournament was organized by the Youth, Sports Office and the Youth Unit at the General Mobilization, in coordination with the district's educational sector and under the supervision of the Governorate Youth and Sports Office. It featured 16 teams: 8 junior teams and 8 youth teams.
In the juniors' final, Wahdat Reid faced Al-Nahda, with Wahdat Reid emerging victorious 2-1, securing the Messenger of Allah Cup and first place in the tournament. The youth final saw Wahdat Reid play against Ain Al-Nahda, with Wahdat Reid winning 3-1 and taking home the tournament cup.
At the conclusion of the 20-day tournament, Abdul Mohsen Al-Sharif, Director of the Governorate Youth and Sports Office, highlighted the significance of this sporting event, held to coincide with the anniversary of the Prophet's birthday, in raising awareness among young people about their noble faith and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He encouraged the expansion of sports and cultural activities due to their importance in the proper development of youth, nurturing their talents and physical skills, and strengthening their spiritual identity.
Al-Sharif also praised the efforts of the district Youth Office, the tournament organizing committee, and all the participating youth.
