Al-hodeidah: The Office of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance and the Scholars' Unit in Al-Hodeidah Governorate organized a closing ceremony honoring the winners of the Ramadan Qur'an Competition named after the Martyr Leader Sayyed Hussein Bader Aldin Al-Houthi, in its eleventh edition for the year 1447 AH, with the participation of 121 male and female memorizers from various districts of the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the competition concluded after ten days of events held under the patronage of the local authority and the general mobilization in the governorate, in cooperation with the Zakat Office, the Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation, and Telecommunications institutions. Deputy Governor for Services Affairs, Mohammed Hulayisi, congratulated the winners and emphasized the importance of applying the teachings of the Qur'an in daily life, promoting a Qur'anic culture within the community.
Hulayisi highlighted the significance of the Holy Qur'an in shaping the nation's identity and reinforcing faith-based values in society. He praised the efforts of the Endowments Office for organizing the annual competition, which fosters a conscious generation rooted in Qur'anic teachings and shielded from misleading influences.
He further explained that the competition is part of a broader initiative to uphold the Holy Qur'an as a foundational element of life, fostering positive competition among youth in memorization and reflection on the Qur'an. Such activities, he noted, strengthen social cohesion and encourage adherence to true Islamic principles.
Describing the competition as a milestone of faith and education, Hulayisi underscored the role of the Holy Qur'an in societal and individual development. He asserted that adherence to the Qur'an is crucial for addressing contemporary challenges faced by the nation.
Hulayisi also remarked on Al-Hodeidah Governorate's reputation as a Qur'anic beacon, nurturing talented youth dedicated to memorizing and practicing the teachings of the Qur'an. He stressed that Qur'anic activities are vital for spreading religious awareness and protecting the youth from intellectual deviations.
The continuation of the competition for the eleventh year, despite challenges, reflects Yemeni society's commitment to the Qur'an's message. Hulayisi emphasized the need to enhance efforts in spreading Qur'anic culture and reinforcing spiritual and religious values within the community.
The ceremony concluded with the honoring of top winners: Munther Abdullah Ahmed Mahim from Al-Mina District in first place, Mustafa Mohammed Maqbool from Al-Hawk District in second, and Mohammed Hassan Ahmed Dhahab from Al-Mina District in third. They received certificates of appreciation and financial prizes, along with recognition for the committees and contributors to the competition's success.
