Conclusion of Workshop for Al-Hudaydah Radio Media Professionals on Promoting Sustainable Development

Al-hudaydah: The Bonyan Development Foundation concluded today a training workshop for the media professionals and management of Al-Hudaydah Radio, entitled "The Role of National Media in Enhancing Community Awareness towards Sustainable Development."

According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop lasted five days under the supervision of the Ministry of Information, in coordination with the Ministries of Local and Rural Administration and Development, Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and the Agricultural Cooperative Union. It was organized in cooperation with the Yemeni General Corporation for Radio and Television and the Television Sector, funded by the Project and Agricultural and Fisheries Initiatives Financing Unit in the governorate.

The workshop aimed to qualify and develop the skills of Al-Hudaydah Radio's media professionals and management in developmental and cooperative media. It sought to activate their role in keeping pace with developmental and cooperative activities and initiatives and highlighting success stories and community experiences that contribute to achieving sustainable development.

The participants received knowledge related to developmental and cooperative media, mechanisms for addressing sustainable development issues, and highlighting cooperative initiatives, projects, and activities. They also focused on enhancing community awareness of the importance of participation in the development process and the need to develop guidebooks and simplified terminology for media professionals to address sustainable development files effectively.

At the conclusion, the First Deputy Governor, Ahmed Al-Bashari, emphasized the importance of the media's role in raising community awareness of the importance of cooperative work and enhancing partnerships between various community components and official bodies. He highlighted the influential role of media in addressing community needs and showcasing developmental initiatives and projects.

Al-Bashari considered such courses a qualitative leap in developmental and cooperative media, contributing to developing the work of cooperative associations and enhancing their role as a link between official bodies and the community. At the conclusion of the workshop, which was attended by representatives of relevant bodies and institutions, certificates of completion were distributed to the participants.
