Sana'a: An expanded consultative meeting in Al-Thawra District in the capital Sana'a today discussed the conditions of literacy centers in the district and ways to improve their performance.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included the head of the Planning and Development Committee in the Secretariat's local council, Sharaf Al-Hadi, the directors of the Literacy Office in the Secretariat, Jalal Al-Maqrami, and in Al-Thawra District, Aqeel Al-Saqqaf, the education area director Amin Salah, and the head of the Planning Committee in the district, Mohammed Al-Hababi. They addressed the mechanism of work in the centers and the difficulties facing their performance.
The meeting approved raising a work plan to the Literacy Office in the Secretariat that includes proposals to address difficulties and overcome obstacles in a way that contributes to developing the performance of the 15 literacy centers in the district.
The director of the Literacy Office, Al-Maqrami, stressed the importance of commitment and discipline in the educational process in the centers, raising the performance level of their cadres, and exerting maximum efforts with the aim of reducing illiteracy. He expressed the office's readiness to work and contribute to addressing the imbalances and obstacles facing the literacy centers in the district to achieve their goals.
The director of the education area, Salah, stressed the necessity of joining efforts to make the educational process in literacy centers successful in a way that contributes to the public good and provides a great service to society. He affirmed the education area's keenness to overcome the difficulties hindering the work of literacy centers with the available capabilities, valuing the efforts of volunteers in serving the educational process.
The director of the Literacy Office in the district, Wafa Khamis, reviewed the difficulties facing the progress of the educational process in the literacy centers and their approximately 500 female students, affirming the importance of this consultative meeting in finding remedies for the difficulties and raising the performance level of the centers.
The meeting heard from the directors of the literacy centers in Al-Thawra District explanations about the most prominent difficulties facing the centers and hindering their performance of their tasks optimally. At the conclusion of the consultative meeting, attended by a number of educational and executive leaders, the directors of the Literacy Office in the Secretariat, Al-Thawra District, and the education area in the district were honored with certificates of appreciation for their effective role in making the tasks of the literacy centers successful.
