Sanaa: A meeting held today in Sana'a, chaired by the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Obbad, discussed aspects of coordination and cooperation between the Capital Secretariat and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Capital Sanaa.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, which included the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Secretariat, Ali Al-Hadi, reviewed the partnership to enhance the business and investment environment and secure supply stability for the holy month of Ramadan.
The meeting addressed developing sustainable solutions for the scrap metal collection sector, transforming it from mere collection and recycling into an integrated local industry, and mobilizing relevant government and private sector entities to enhance the added value of this sector to increase its productivity and open export horizons abroad, as it contributes to supplying the national economy with hard currency by benefiting from it as an effective economic resource.
During the meeting, the Mayor of the Capital stressed the importance of joint work to prepare the investment climate and remove obstacles facing merchants and investors, praising the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Capital Secretariat in stimulating the economy.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Secretariat praised the practical steps taken by the Mayor of the Capital, particularly his decision to regulate and stop random field inspections of commercial and industrial shops, confirming that this step directly contributes to the stability and development of the business environment.
In the meeting, which was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Chamber, Hassan Al-Sayani; the Executive Director of the Chamber, Adel Al-Khawlani; the Head of Commercial and Industrial Sectors, Qais Al-Kumaim; the Heads of the Restaurants Sector, Mujahid Al-Jaboubi, and the Tourism and Travel Sector, Ali Al-Lahji; and the Chief of Operations at the Chamber, Abdullah Al-Barawi, it was emphasized that field and administrative coordination between the Chamber and the Secretariat should continue in order to enhance the business environment and develop the activities of the private sector and the national economy.
