Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning reported that the country's weather is being affected by an extension of a high-pressure system originating from northeast Arabia.
According to Yemen News Agency, in its 24-hour weather forecast, the center predicted varying intensities of thunderstorms across parts of the governorates of Sana'a, Al Mahwit, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Ad Dali', Shabwah, southern Hadramawt, and Al Mahrah.
Scattered rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is also expected in parts of the governorates of Sa'dah, Amran, Hajjah, the highlands of Lahj and Abyan, Ma'rib, Socotra, the eastern coast, and adjacent inland areas.
The center also noted that wind speeds reaching up to 25 knots are expected along the western, southern, and eastern coasts, including Bab al-Mandab. The center warned citizens of flash floods in ravines and valleys, advising against being in or crossing them during and after rainfall. It also warned of thunderstorms and advised against being near power lines, trees, and high places.
Furthermore, it warned of rockfalls, mudslides, and reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to rainfall and fog formation.
