Sanaa:A meeting led by the Acting Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Sam Al-Bashiri, focused on the executive plan to support economic empowerment projects aimed at producing natural cow milk in Sanaa Governorate and the strategies for its marketing.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Bashiri emphasized the immediate implementation of steps to absorb cow breeders' production and link these efforts with dairy production factories in Sanaa Governorate. He highlighted the importance of adhering to the highest standards of quality and food safety throughout the collection, preservation, and refrigerated transport to production lines. He also suggested learning from the successful experience in Hodeidah Governorate to ensure the sustainability of projects and improve the income of beneficiary families.
The meeting included various officials such as Undersecretaries from the Ministries of Economy, Social Affairs and Labor, Agriculture and Fisheries, and the Executive Director General of the Yemeni Authority for Specifications, Standards, and Quality Control. It was attended by representatives of dairy production factories and companies in the governorate. During the session, Ahmed Al-Humaidi, Deputy Executive Director General of the Yemeni Authority for Specifications, presented a technical report detailing the requirements and standards necessary for dairy factories to efficiently process locally produced natural milk.
The meeting concluded with the approval of several measures to address field challenges and overcome logistical and technical obstacles that hinder the absorption of local milk by factories, aiming to enhance value chains and support the localization of food industries. Attendees included Fahd Al-Gharbani, Director General of the Office of the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment in Sanaa Governorate, and Khaled Al-Khawlani, Director General of Market Stability at the ministry.
