Sana’a: The Specialized Criminal Division in the capital city of Sa has announced its decision to reserve the case involving the kidnapping, rape, and murder of a child named Anhar Al-Amiri for a verdict pronouncement on November 15. The crime occurred in the Al-Sawma’ah District of Al-Bayda Governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the session was led by Judge Abdullah Al-Najjar, head of the division, with the assistance of Judges Hussein Al-Azzi and Mohammed Mufleh. Judge Fuad Hassan represented the prosecution. The court session included hearing from the remaining defense witnesses, addressing questions from the lawyers, and listening to the prosecution’s response.
The court also considered the responses and requests of the accused, Ziyad Abdullah Omar Al-Amiri, aged 19, and Ahmed Abdullah Abdulnabi Al-Amiri, aged 17. The defense presented their final plea and requested that the case be reserved for verdict.
The indictment outlines that the accused, Ahmed and Ziyad, kidnapped Anhar, an eight-year-old girl, by luring her from in front of a relative’s house in Al-Atf village using a car. They transported her to a remote location known as the “Umm Halil” valley, where they committed the crimes of rape and murder by strangulation, subsequently disposing of her body in a well.
