Taiz: The General Military Hospital in Taiz Province held a cultural evening today to mark the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was held under the supervision of the Fourth Military Region Command, the local authority in the province, and the Military Medical Services Department. It was attended by Director of the Taiz Health and Environment Office Dr. Mohammed Al-Ezzi, Social Unit officials Hames Al-Habari and Scholars Unit official Ali Al-Sarouri, and Director of Taiz Central Hospital Dr. Hamoud Al-Qareh.
In his address, Osama Al-Qatabri stated that the Prophet's birthday anniversary represents an educational occasion to purify souls and renew commitment to the values of justice, dignity, and freedom brought by the Prophet, as well as to follow his example of patience and courage.
Al-Qatabri noted that the Holy Quran is the primary and authentic source for learning about the character and high status of the Prophet. He emphasized the importance of gratitude, reverence, and respect for the Prophet, as well as translating his example into practical conduct in behavior, dealings, struggle, and benevolence.
He highlighted the historical ties of the Yemeni people, whom the Prophet praised for their virtues, saying: 'Faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni.' He called on the people of Taiz, across official, military, and popular spheres, to present a distinguished Quranic model and actively participate in preparatory events and mobilization efforts for the main celebration.
Two speeches were also delivered by scholars and healthcare workers, emphasizing that the Yemeni people's observance of this occasion reflects their deep historical connection with God, His Messenger, and his enduring message.
The speeches added that Yemenis' distinctive observance of these religious rituals reflects the essence of their faith-based identity, rooted in wisdom and struggle. They noted that the deeply rooted cultural and social awareness among Yemenis has thwarted efforts aimed at eroding their faith-based identity, undermining the values and sanctities of the nation.
