Hodeidah:Cultural institutions and bodies in the Hodeidah Governorate have condemned recent airstrikes by Saudi forces targeting the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Hodeidah University. The attacks, which involved two airstrikes, are described as a flagrant attack and a war crime, demonstrating deep-seated hostility toward Yemen and its future generations.
According to Yemen News Agency, a joint statement from the General Book Authority, the Hodeidah Public Library, and the Yemeni Writers and Authors Union highlighted that this attack adds to the Saudi forces' criminal record, which has deliberately targeted educational and academic facilities. This act is seen as a clear violation of international and humanitarian laws and norms.
The statement emphasized the systematic targeting of the education sector as part of malicious efforts to disrupt education and deprive Yemeni youth of their right to knowledge. Cultural bodies and institutions have urged writers, intellectuals, and opinion leaders worldwide to condemn these actions and expose the falsifications covering up the crimes against the Yemeni people.
The statement holds the Saudi regime fully accountable for this crime and past attacks on educational and vital facilities since the aggression began. It calls on international and human rights organizations to break their silence, document these violations, and seriously pursue accountability for the perpetrators.
