Sanaa: The Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Development organized a cultural seminar in Hodeida province on Tuesday to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, under the theme "Inspired by Ashura." During the seminar, Civil Service Minister Dr. Khaled Al-Hawali spoke about Ashura as an opportunity to learn from Imam Hussein's life, highlighting his values of steadfastness, sacrifice, and truthfulness in confronting tyranny.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Al-Hawali addressed attendees, including Deputy Minister Anas Sufyan and Dean of the National Institute of Administrative Sciences Dr. Mohammed Al-Qatabari, emphasizing Imam Hussein's example in opposing oppression and advocating for justice despite the costs. He urged the Muslim community to follow Imam Hussein's courage and resilience in facing challenges from the United States and Israel, viewing this as a continuation of resisting domination and a call for faith-driven preparedness.
Dr. Al-Hawali described the commemoration as a testament to the Yemeni people's dedication to Imam Hussein's legacy of justice and resistance against oppression. Taha Al-Hadhari, a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, delved into Imam Hussein's life, the motivations behind his uprising, and its impact on the Muslim community. Al-Hadhari noted that Imam Hussein aimed for reform within the Muslim nation, founded by his grandfather, the Prophet Muhammad, and saw Ashura as a chance to emulate Imam Hussein in promoting reform and combating corruption.
Al-Hadhari highlighted Imam Hussein's steadfastness and the symbolic significance of the phrase "Far From Us Is Humiliation" for those opposing oppression. He also drew comparisons between Imam Hussein's stance and Ansarullah leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi's opposition to U.S. and Israeli influences.
