Culture & Tourism Minister Launches Folk Arts Festival to Celebrate Yemen’s National Day

Sana'a: The Minister of Culture and Tourism inaugurated the Folk Arts Performances Festival at Al-Tahrir Square in celebration of Yemen's National Day on May 22. The four-day event, funded by the Heritage and Cultural Development Fund and organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is held under the theme "From Sana'a to Gaza." The festival showcases traditional Bara' dances and Zamil chants, which highlight local and regional realities, emphasizing resistance against perceived foreign dominance.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Dr., underscored the festival's importance in celebrating Yemen's unity and reaffirming a commitment to protect it from foreign interference and internal betrayals. He stated that the festival serves as a message to the world about Yemen's determination to uphold its unity against any efforts to revert to conditions prior to May 22, 1990.

The Minister asserted that Yemeni unity is unyielding, with citizens across all regions ready to defend it. He also addressed the hardships faced by residents in the occupied southern and eastern provinces, including economic challenges and human rights abuses, calling for a united effort to liberate these areas from foreign occupiers and collaborators.

Minister Al-Yafai further emphasized that national unity is crucial in the broader struggle against Zionism, reiterating its role as a key pillar in Yemen's strategy moving forward.
