Customs Tax Institute Launches Training for ASYCUDA System Management

Sana'a: A specialized training course on managing the operational functions of the ASYCUDA global system began on Saturday at the Customs Tax Institute in the capital Sana'a. The course, which is set to run until August 12, aims to qualify 33 technical and administrative staff of the Authority, enhancing their capabilities in managing and operating the ASYCUDA global system.

According to Yemen News Agency, the training initiative is designed to contribute to the development of institutional performance, raise the efficiency of customs and tax services, and support the Authority's digital transformation. During the course's opening, Dr. Ibrahim Mahdi, the Acting Head of the Authority, highlighted that digital transformation is a crucial strategic pillar for developing institutional work. He noted the Authority's accomplishments in facilitating and simplifying various tax and customs procedures, which have strengthened relationships and partnerships with the public, traders, and importers.

Dr. Mahdi emphasized the need for a complete transition to an electronic environment across all departments, with the elimination of paper transactions. The goal is for all procedures to be conducted electronically according to each department's specialization, ensuring speed, accuracy, and transparency, and contributing to improved service quality and enhanced oversight. He detailed the department's plans to modernize its technological infrastructure and build staff capacity, viewing human resources as the cornerstone of successful development and digital transformation projects. Dr. Mahdi stressed that investing in training and development is an investment in the future of any institution and in enhancing its performance efficiency.

In addition, Abdulkarim Rasea, the department's Undersecretary for Executive Units and Offices, reaffirmed the department's commitment to building a modern tax and customs system based on smart systems and electronic integration. This system aims to meet current requirements, simplify procedures, enhance performance efficiency, and deliver higher-quality services to citizens and clients.

Faisal Al-Thawab, Director of the Customs Tax Institute, indicated that the training course is part of the institute's program to prepare highly qualified personnel to manage modern electronic systems efficiently. This is in line with the department's leadership directives for digital transformation and the modernization of the work environment.
