Sana'a: The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, sent two identical messages to the President of the Security Council and the Secretary General of the United Nations regarding the continued blockade imposed on the Yemeni people. The Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed that the continuation of the unjust blockade imposed on the Yemeni people since March 26, 2015, does not serve international peace and security.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Deputy Foreign Minister expressed concerns that the ongoing measures by the American side, supported by the Saudi regime, could destabilize the region further and negatively impact the global economy, already strained by American-Israeli actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized Yemen's awareness of regional developments and their adverse effects on the global economy, warning that continued hostility could lead to catastrophic outcomes as regional populations grow increasingly weary of ongoing conflicts and destructive policies.
He urged the United Nations to caution the Saudi regime against pursuing projects at the expense of regional stability, arguing that such ambitions serve American interests and are unrealistic. Furthermore, he criticized the United Nations and the international community for enabling criminal activities, exacerbating the crisis, and failing to uphold international laws and charters, thereby compelling affected populations to consider more viable alternatives.
Abu Ras stated that the current situation of neither peace nor war is untenable, and warned that the Saudi regime's delay in establishing peace in Yemen might force them to explore other options to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and secure their rightful claims to a dignified and peaceful life.
