Deputy Foreign Minister Engages with UN Special Envoy’s Office Director on Yemen Peace Efforts

Sana'a: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Abdulwahid Abu Ras met with Mohammed Al-Ghannam, Director of the Office of the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen, to discuss areas of cooperation between the ministry and the envoy's office.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated Sana'a's commitment to achieving a just and sustainable peace, emphasizing that the ongoing aggression, blockade, and occupation since 26 March 2015 must not persist. He highlighted the importance of the UN Special Envoy's active role in advancing the peace process and advocated for practical and tangible confidence-building measures, such as resuming flights from Sana'a International Airport and addressing the economic escalation by the Saudi regime.

The Director of the Special Envoy's Office reaffirmed the United Nations' commitment to continuing its efforts to achieve peace in Yemen.
